As the first iOS-based representation of the historical grandeur of Yuanmingyuan, this product explores the great potential of tablet computers in the representation of the research output of Re-yuanmingyuan, which serves at the same time the on-site guiding system for Yuanmingyuan Site Park. Based on complete digital reconstructions, virtual scenes merge seamlessly with reality, bridging the past and present.

Of more than a hundred scenic areas in Yuanmingyuan in total, 32 have been reconstructed, and the first 10 now released are concentrated on the crown jewel of Yuanmingyuan, Jiuzhou qingyan district (private residence of the imperial family), and the core area of Changchunyuan, Hanjingtang (residential and recreational complex). The remainder will continue to be released, with more images and videos FOR FREE!

Re-yuanmingyuan is the state-of-art digital reconstruction based on over ten years of rigorous scientific research conducted by leading scholars like Professor GUO Daiheng from Tsinghua University. With knowledge from the tremendous reserve of historic literature, our research and reconstruction efforts, reaching down to the last details of even window frames and plaque inscriptions, are all well grounded. In combination of the huge amount of high precision archaeological information captured from the site, a specialized architectural and archaeological information platform has been successfully established, upon which the historical development of Yuanmingyuan is vividly rendered.
